I was honored to say "Thank you" to some of the very talented youth who give their time and talents each week at the chapel by taking them out to eat.
As I write this, I am confronted with the fact that our country--even our world--is in the middle of a pandemic. Each day, we are bombarded with more experts talking about the COVID-19 virus that is now a worldwide problem. Schools are closing, large events are cancelling, and even churches are closing for awhile.
We just received word that the commander on post at Redstone has cancelled all chapel services, classes and any other groups associated with the chapel until April 3. This, of course, includes Club H2O youth. And, while I really hate that we won't be able to come together each week to worship and get into the Word of God, I know that Romans 8:28 says, "And we know that all things work together for good for those who love God, who are called according to his purpose". So, during this time off, I will be sending out little messages to my students to encourage them in their walk with the Lord. I am also praying for each of the students, that they will see that Jesus is the "Way, the Truth and the Life", and that He is all they need for life. I also pray for protection for all of us from this virus and His guidance in the days to come. While we wait, we can pray and trust in Him.
So, during this worldwide pandemic that we are all experiencing, here are some promises from God:
Isaiah 26:3, "You keep completely safe the people who maintain their faith, for they trust in you."
Isaiah 41:10, "Don’t be afraid, for I am with you! Don’t be frightened, for I am your God! I strengthen you—yes, I help you—
yes, I uphold you with my victorious right hand!"
2 Timothy 1:7, "For God did not give us a Spirit of fear but of power and love and self-control."
I am praying for all of you too, and if there is anything in particular that you need prayer for, let me know.
Thank you all so much for your continued prayers and financial support!
