What a great time in this month of June! We went to Student Life Kids Camp June 18-21 at Shocco Springs, AL. We had 16 children, third through 6th graders, who came this year. Our theme for the camp was "transformed". We combined with about 800 other students from other churches each day for a morning worship session, recreation games, swimming and evening session and late night games. Every afternoon, each group had their own time together for Bible study, prayer and discussion.
All of our students had received Christ as Lord and Savior, and had some good moments of truth as we opened God's Word each day. What a privilege it was to be able to speak life and truth into these precious children!
It was a little hard this year, since this is the first Kids Camp without Darrell. I wasn't expecting the waves of memories that hit me as we went through our days. But my God is so faithful, and He gives me peace!
"I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.”
We got home on Friday afternoon, and I have this week to get ready for Camp Electric. I will be going to Camp Electric with the Club H2O youth band. This camp is held at the Trevecca Nazarene College in Nashville, TN. We leave on Saturday, June 29th and come home on Thursday, July 4th. This camp is for young musicians to fellowship with other young musicians, worship together, and be led and taught by some of the greatest Christian musicians in the United States.
This is a wonderful opportunity, and I am very thankful for it. Please pray for all of us; for safety, good attitudes, open hearts, and for God's will to be done.
Thank you all so much for your financial support and prayers for this ministry!
We were part of the red rumble team at Kids Camp. We won the spirit stick!
We had recreation every day at Kids Camp. This is our group, playing turkey ball.
