Luke 12:7 says,
"And the very hairs on your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows."
God cares so much for each person who has ever been born! It's sometimes hard to wrap my mind around that truth when I hang out with kids who are arrogant, sometimes sassy and seem bent to go the wrong way in their lives.
But God sees us as we are AND also as we could be. He wants to write victory into our lives. He wants to see us go farther than we could have ever dreamed about. Take Simon, son of Jonas. When Jesus first met him, He renamed him, Peter. Jesus was already looking ahead, and instead of just looking at a smelly, dirty, loud fisherman, He was seeing the man who would preach and see 3000 people come to Christ. God knows the name of each teenager and He knows their potential. He wants to give them a new name and a new purpose.
April is the month of the military child, to honor these children who give up so much, many times not knowing why. They move every few years to a new school, new friends, new neighbors. They have to adjust to not seeing Dad or Mom for long periods of time, not knowing when or if they will see them again. And all this is on top of the regular teenage angst that usually happens.
My goal is to make sure that each one of the kids that God allows me to have in our group knows the love of Jesus and that they leave for their next duty station knowing that Someone loves them and that they are never alone.
Many of these kids end up going into the Army themselves. We actually have one who is graduating and has already been sworn in.
Please pray for these military kids. There is so much hardship on the families.
Thank you all so much for your prayers and financial support! You are vital to this ministry!
